Carrillo Cabinets

New doors and drawer fronts, made to your sizes. The boxes stay.

Custom replacement doors

Your cabinet boxes are almost always fine. I measure them, build new doors and drawer fronts to fit, and hang them in one to two days. You get a new kitchen without the demolition, the dumpster, or the month of eating standing up.

I measure your kitchen myself, I make the doors myself, and I fit them myself. You deal with me from the first phone call to the last hinge.

One fixed price, after I have measured

Within two working days of the visit. No deposit is taken until the quote is signed.

What moves the figure is the number of doors, the style, and whether you want glass fronts. I will not give you a price over the phone before I have seen the kitchen, because it would be a guess and you would end up arguing with me about it later.

What you get

Where the money goes, and where it does not

  • Keeps your existing layout and countertop
  • A fraction of what a full replacement costs
  • Fitted in a day or two, not weeks
  • Any style and color, built to your sizes

Before you book

Is this the right job for your kitchen?

New doors are the right answer for most kitchens and the wrong answer for some. I would rather work that out with you now than halfway through a Tuesday.

This is right when

  • The boxes are sound. Open a door and push on the side panel. If it is firm and the shelves are not sagging, the carcass has years left in it. I check every one when I measure.
  • The layout works. You are not walking around an island to reach the trash, and nothing is in the wrong place.
  • The countertop is staying. Or it is being replaced separately, before I start.
  • You want a different shape of door. Slab instead of raised panel, glass in the uppers — the sort of change paint cannot make.

This is wrong when

  • The layout itself is the problem. If the kitchen does not work to cook in, new doors will not fix it. You need a fitter and a redesign, and hanging my doors on it first is money you throw away twice.
  • The boxes are water-damaged. Swollen, soft or crumbling chipboard under the sink means the carcass is going. I can replace one bad box. If it has spread along the run, your kitchen needs replacing, and I will say so standing in it rather than write you a quote for doors.
  • You are moving in eighteen months. If the doors are dated rather than damaged, paint costs less and photographs just as well. Spend the difference on the move.
  • The doors are solid and you only want a new color. Then you are paying me for joinery you do not need, and I would not do that to your kitchen. Repainting is the cheaper route and I will tell you so at the measure.

The money

Against a full cabinet replacement

The boxes are the cheap part of a kitchen and the expensive part of replacing one — the demolition, the dumpster, the plumber, the electrician, the weeks of eating standing up. I leave them where they are. That is the whole difference.

No deposit is taken until the quote is signed.

Custom replacement doors

New doors, fronts, panels and hinges

Fitted in one to two days. You keep the sink, the oven and the countertop throughout.

A full cabinet replacement

All of that, plus boxes you did not need to replace

Three to five weeks, plus the demolition, the dumpster, the plumber and the electrician.

Questions

The five I get asked every week

How long does the whole thing take?
The measure is about 45 minutes, at your house. Your written quote follows within two working days. Once you sign it I build the doors to the sizes I took, which is two to three weeks, and fitting is one to two days depending on the door count. Your kitchen stays usable the whole time. There is no point where you lose the sink or the oven.
Do you do the countertop as well?
No. I make doors, drawer fronts and the panels that go with them, and that is all I am any good at. Countertops are a different trade. I would rather say that than quote you for work I do not do and then subcontract it behind your back. If the countertop is being replaced, have that done first and I will measure around it.
What happens to the inside of the cabinets?
The boxes stay as they are. That is the part of the job you are not paying for, and it is the whole reason the price is what it is. I do replace every hinge with a new soft-close one, and I can swap tired shelves or drawer runners while I am in there. The inner faces keep their current color. If you open a cabinet and expect the inside to look new too, this is not the job you want.
What if the color looks different in real life?
It will look at least slightly different. Screens vary, and so does your kitchen at four in the afternoon. I bring real painted samples to the measure and I leave them with you. Look at them in daylight, look at them with the lights on, and hold them against the countertop before you tell me to order anything.
My cabinets are an odd size. Is that a problem?
No. Nothing I hang comes off a shelf. Every door is cut to the opening I measured. A kitchen that has settled, a run that is not square, a cabinet somebody built themselves on a Sunday: all normal. I allow for it when I measure, which is why I measure every opening rather than one and multiply.

Start with the photo, not the phone call

Upload one picture of your kitchen and see it with the doors you are thinking about. It takes a couple of minutes, it costs nothing, and you do not have to talk to me to do it.
